Roxanne's Birkenstock began in the small town of San Luis Obispo on
the central coast of California. It was here that Roxanne was in search
of comfortable sandals for her family. She came across a peculiar shoe
by the name of Birkenstock. Impressed with the idea behind the Birkenstock
footbed, she purchased a pair of Birkenstocks for herself and her sons.
The shoes proved to be so comfortable, Roxanne decided to become a partner
in the San Luis Obispo store in October of 1977. Truly believing in
the product, she became the sole owner of the small shop within six
months, which her youngest son, Kevin, now co-owns and operates.
With the success of her first store, Roxanne and her husband,
John, decided to move inland and open a second location.
They chose Fresno, which is located in the heart of California,
in the San Joaquin Valley. Located close to Yosemite National
Park, Sequoia National Park, and only a few hours from the
Central coast, Fresno is the gateway to many California treasures.
With the warm summer climate, and the mild winters, it has
been a perfect location for John and Roxanne.
The Fresno store began as a small shop, but over the last 21 years, it has
expanded to over three thousand square feet. It currently employs 17 people,
some have been with the company for over ten years. Though the store's primary
product will always be Birkenstock, it has expanded to carry over twenty
different brands of comfort footwear.
Roxanne's has a full selection of Birkenstock footwear,
with over 200 color and style combinations in stock. We offer
expert fitting and repair service, and we are extremely dedicated
